Good morning folks. Good weather coming up the line so far. It sounds like it
its going to continue. We are doing some maintenance on the way home trying to
stay busy. Afternoon movies and novels have been very popular as well as a lot
of relaxing. The food has been great the entire trip and very enjoyable on the
way home. Jorge and Jose are the highlight on these travel days. We are still
scheduled to be in at 800 in the morning Sunday. We will see you then, Andy
Cates

Nov 9 2002
Good afternoon everyone, we departed San Diego yesterday on the annual
Newell/All-star 10 day extravaganza. After stopping to fill the boat with an
excellent load of sardines, we cleared the point around 1430. The weather was
good and is still pretty good , so I think we will escape the rain. We started
today with a thorough tackle seminar, going over all the various techniques we
use on a 10 day trip. Before I forget, I would like to mention that Richard
Hightower had one of the best tackle raffles/ giveaways that I have ever seen.
Everyone on board received many items, from rods and reels to tackle boxes to
trolling jigs and everything you could imagine. We don't have a destination in
mind yet to begin the trip, but by the end of the day we should have it
narrowed down. We will report again tomorrow afternoon. Until then keep a
tight line. Jeff DeBuys and crew
Nov 10 2002
Hello everyone, we did finally pick a destination to begin the trip, and we
opted to try our luck at alijos rocks. The reports from the ridge were very
poor, and we spent the day trying for tuna along with 2 other boats at the
rocks. We saw some decent sign of yellowfin tuna, but they were reluctant to
bite. The overall grade is good, 50 to 75 lbs.. We ended up with 26 fish for
our efforts. The weather is showing signs of really being a factor on this
trip, as we have a huge ground swell, as well as some wind. We departed the
rocks after dark and are going to run inside to look for some kelps in hopes
of some wahoo and dorado action. We will report again later. jeff and crew
Nov 11 2002
Good morning everyone, we have a report for yesterday, as well
as this morning, Monday. We fished offshore yesterday for dorado and wahoo
that have been on the kelps down here. The weather was horrible
and it was tough driving around, let alone looking for anything floating. We
did manage to get 60 beautiful dorado, 18 to 25 lbs.. Today we are fishing
down at one of the lower banks in hopes of scratching some quality yellowfin
tuna. So far for our efforts we have 17 tuna which are 60 to 110 lbs. they
really are a beautiful grade of fish. We see a good amount of fish around here
so we hope they want to bite. We will update this report later today. sea ya,
jeff and crew
Nov 11 2002
Good evening folks, here is the latest fishing report for the 11th. We ended
up scratching today on that better grade tuna. The bulk of the fish is 70 to
85 lbs, with a few bigger and a few smaller. We did have 3 or 4 over 100 lbs,
pictured here is Scott Nakata with a nice fish. Also Charlie McGhee
landed a fish close to the same size pictured here. Things look good here for
us right now, with good conditions being very important. We ended up with 40
tuna for the day, as well as a hand full of dorado. The weather is improving,
and hopefully we can scratch again tomorrow. Until then take care. jeff and
crew.

Nov 12 2002
Hello everyone, the report for today is as follows. The weather was really
windy this morning, and conditions were tough for everyone fishing. We saw the
same good sign that we saw yesterday, but they didn't bite as good. We ended
up with 28 yellowfin tuna. Still that beautiful grade, 60 to 115 lbs.
pictured here is Si Halliburton with the biggest fish of the day, a 115lber.
Also pictured are Scott Hatcher, and Bob
Keith, both of Chicago with their late afternoon catch. Things look good, and
we are going to stay at this bank for another day in hopes of a big hit on
this good grade fish. wish us luck!. We will talk to you all
tomorrow. sea ya jeff debuys

Nov 13 2002
Good evening folks, the report for today is as follows. We spent the majority
of today at the same place we have been fishing for the last few days. today
was a little slow on the tuna, although we did catch a
nice tuna that might weigh 150 lbs. pictured here is Carl Shielzeth and Andy
with the prized catch. We had to put the backup rig on because he got spooled.
We did end up with 15 of those good grade tuna, and we left the bank at 1 p.m.
and ran up to another bank to try for the late afternoon. We did not see much
in the way of fish late in the day. The weather is good and we are glad about
that. I don't have a destination in mind for tomorrow, but we will start
working back to San Diego. We still have 2 more days to fish on this trip. We
will report again tomorrow. sea ya then. jeff and crew

Nov 15 2002
Hi everyone, not much to report today. It was our last day fishing, and we
fished for yellowtail without much success. We fished countless areas, and
spots. The conditions were good as well. We will be back in San Diego Sunday
around 0730. We had a good trip as far as I am concerned, with some good
quality tuna fishing. We will see you all back in San Diego. jeff and crew
Nov 17 2002
Fish Count 201 Yellowfin Tuna, 11 Wahoo, 65 Dorado and 11 Yellowtail
1st Place - 164 lb. Yellowfin Tuna - Carl Schielzeph Westminister, Ca.
2nd Place - 143.7 lb. Yellowfin Tuna - Si Halburton Loveland, Co.
3rd Place - 130 lb. Yellowfin Tuna - Robert Keith Glen Ellyn, Il.
This is what is expected on a 10 day trip. Quality fishing!! Quality Sponsor!! Rich Hightower, Rep. for Newell Reels and All-Star Rods made sure every fisherman received some goodies. Raffles, t-shirts, jigs, hats, Hayabusa hooks along with rods and reels to use made this trip one of the more popular trips. Fishing was excellent on the larger tuna. Just an outstanding trip all the way around.
Nov 30 2002
Good morning folks. Today is our first day of travel on a 16 day trip
scheduled for the Hurricane Bank. So far so good, with a nice load of sardines
and very nice weather on our first morning out. We did leave some room for
alternate bait and in this case we are going to try and fill the spot with
some mackerel from Cedros Island. We will be at Cedros late morning and spend
a couple of hours trying for the bigger bait.
We have high hopes for this trip especially after the last trip in October
that produced 7 tuna over 200 pounds and many others over the 100 pound range.
This trip went out pretty light and the passengers that committed to the trip
are now all excited about fishing the Red Rooster III with only eleven
passengers.
Hopefully the weather and fish cooperate so we can put together another nice
trip at the Bank. We will report again tomorrow, Andy Cates
