Hi Everyone, we just wanted to let you know that the Red Rooster III is back out fishing for a 15 day trip after spending the last two months in Dry Dock getting refurbished. Unfortunately at the last min right before leaving on this trip the Sat phone went out. Despite all our attempts to rush parts down we ran out of time and had to leave regardless. We do plan on updating the current fishing reports whenever we can and certainly when we hear from the boat. As for pictures, I’m afraid you will have to wait until they return for us to post them.

We wish the fishermen and crew fishing Hurricane Bank on the current 15-day trip the best on finding and landing those 200 lb plus yellowfin tuna.  The Rooster has to her credit for this season 118 yellowfin tuna and looking for more. An outstanding year on the giant tuna.

The Rooster is in great shape.  Captain Andy Cates, crew and helpers did an excellent job over the past two months.   The three fish holes were torn out and replaced with new foam and fiberglass to go with the new chillers that were installed last year.  On the deck a new tackle rack was installed between the bait tank and the engine hatch, there was some painting going on too.  Inside the Rooster a new ice machine, new convection ovens, new shower doors and new carpet were added to her makeover. The forward staterooms wall covering has been replaced.   The wheelhouse was refurbished and some new home land security systems installed along with a new computer and new carpet. Everything is looking good.

Now for the fishing season.  The water is warming up nicely; albacore have already been caught along with yellowfin and yellowtail.  The bluefin tuna have been spotted, but few caught.    In mid June, the Rooster starts her short trips, a full schedule till Christmas break.  Look over the schedule, there could be a spot for you, if you have not secured one yet.  There are spots that become available.  So if a particular trip fits your schedule give us a call and be put on standby.  Then if a spot opens up you will get a call, there is no obligation.

If you are looking for a fishing trip to the best fishing grounds on the best boat, then give the office of the Red Rooster III a call.
