July 1 2005
Good evening folks. We are leaving on our annual 8 day charter. Coach Clark the charter master has started us off with some great giveaways, including hats and shirts custom for the trip tomorrow We are going to start off with albacore. The weather sounds good for a change and the fishing also sounds good. Hopefully we awake with those conditions. We will report again tomorrow

July 4 2005

Good evening folks.
yesterday we spent the day offshore in hopes of yellowfin and bluefin. That did not work out to well. Only 10 small 15 to 25 pound yellowfin to show for the day. Talk about slow. We did see enough fish on two different stops, but they would not bite. Our yellowtail fishing today went pretty good. A nice long drift in the afternoon left us with a decent day. One nice White seabass to go with and also a Halibut While trying for bait.

Today we are offshore again in hopes of bluefin and yellowfin. We need some luck we will report again tomorrow.

July 12, 2005

Good morning folks. Our satellites have been off. Hopefully it is working again. This is a 4 day trip and so far things have gone well. Albacore the first day was steady with action for everyone. Guadalupe yesterday was challenging with yellowtail from 28 to 53 pounds. And a Jackpot 87 pound yellowfin tuna. A nice day on trophy size fish. A lot of losses but a great learning experience for all the anglers. Today we are offshore again with great weather in hopes of more albacore and a chance at some Bluefin. We hope to report again tomorrow.

July 15th 2005
Good morning folks.
Yesterday was a great day of albacore fishing. Nice weather and biting fish all the way until dark. Our charter participants on this 4 day trip had a lot of fun. Casino Royal brings out their friends and relatives every year and their timing seems to be great so far. In the middle of the bite almost every throw was a catch.

This morning they experienced some of the best yellowtail fishing I have seen at Guadalupe. 28 to 35 pound fish with a few bigger. Also a trophy yellowfin in the mix. About a 70 pounds.

So far things seem to be getting better . Hopefully July Shows more consistent fishing.
We will report again tomorrow. Andy Cates

July 16th 2005

Good afternoon folks.
We finished off today with some action on yellowfin and yellowtail on kelps. Just a couple of stops were they hit us and then left. The yellowfin are decent size school fish. 20 and 25 pound fish . The few yellows we got were nice grade as well. Nice weather to finish off a great trip. We will be home tomorrow and leaving on a 5 day trip sponsored by Newell and Hyabusa hook. We will report again tomorrow. Andy Cates

REMARKS: This was a private Charter and they did not do any Jackpot. However there were some nice yellowfin up to 78 lbs caught. Guadalupe produced some of the best yellowtail fishing I’ve seen yet, 28-40 lbs on average and with no sharks around either. The weather was beautiful and calm. An Ideal trip.

July 19th, 2005

Good morning folks.

More sign of Bluefin and less sign of albacore. The weather came up again yesterday and made things tough. Fortunately we had a nice drift all afternoon that gave us over a hundred mixed bluefin albacore and a few yellowfin. The tuna were 25 to 35 pounds with a few smaller and just a couple a bit bigger. The drift saved our day. A little action on albacore in the evening but still not what we have been used to. With the weather up we decided to head to Guadalupe and try for a few trophies, We will report again.

Good evening folks.
The weather came up again today and the albacore went down. We were fortunate to get on a school of 25 to 35 pound bluefin and spend all afternoon drifting. With the bluefin we had albacore mixed in. Actually ending up with more of the albacore. For the weather and the caliber of fishing we made out pretty good. With over a hundred mixed fish for the day.
Tomorrow, we will be at Guadalupe. Hopefully conditions are good and we get chances at those yellows and maybe a few tuna. We will report again tomorrow

Good morning folks.
Yesterday was a bit slow until the afternoon. With sign of yellowtail at various spots around the island. Only one spot bit a little in the afternoon for us. Fortunately they were the trophy fish we were looking for. We lost a lot in the rocks. The challenge was there. With the bite tapering off and the offshore bite picking up we decided to head back up in hopes of more albacore and bluefin. We will report again tomorrow.

Good evening folks.
We finished off the trip one a good note with a nice day of fishing on Albacore and Blue Fin tuna. Albacore were good size and the bluefin were mixed up size depending on the school. no big fish mostly 12 to 40 pounds. But good action on both species. Tomorrow we leave on a 3 day trip. And look to see the same sign of fish. We will report again tomorrow.

July 26th, 2005

Good evening folks.

We started off a 4 day trip out on the albacore grounds. A lot of surface activity today . Small spots of breaking fish and puddlers. Getting the spots to bite was a different story. Although there were some lucky stops had by the fleet today. Our day was decent with a lull mid day that slowed us down. The albacore are good size with a few trophy fish mixed . Tomorrow we will be fishing albacore again and then hopefully be in good enough shape to go look for the Bluefin tuna.
We will report again tomorrow

REMARKS:  We started off the first day with a really good catch of over 100 albacore the next two days however the sea turned into a desert and they were gone. Lucky the last day they showed again and we got another nice hit on albacore and a handful of nice yellowtail. At least the weather was consistent it was ideal the whole trip.

July 30th, 2005

Good morning folks. Yesterday turned out to be the slowest day we have had all season. Any albacore we did see did not bite. More schools of small Bluefin that did not bite. The local area did get some action and had the best fishing I had heard of. We are out to the west today looking for a new batch of fish. If that doesn't work out we will join the local boats in hopes of catching something.

July 31st, 2005

We finished off last night in the one day area. We had a couple of decent stops that eased the pain of driving around most of the day. Lots of fish seen yesterday just not much to show for . We are very thankful for the fish we caught on the first day and added to it last night. a handful of Bluefin for the day and one yellowfin.
Today we leave on another 4 day trip.
