Feb 27, 2004
Good afternoon folks. We have had a decent ride home so far. Only a
little bump yesterday and then smoothed out for the night. Big swell
here today but not to much wind. Hopefully we make it through with good
weather. We will be in tomorrow at 9:45 if all goes well at customs. See
you at the dock, Andy Cates
Feb 25, 2004
Good afternoon folks. We just left Cabo and are on our way home. It
looks like we will be at customs at 800 and then the dock at 900. The
guys spent the morning in town shopping and having a couple of
Margaritas. They also picked up a few special things for the way home.
We did a group picture and awarded Francios Mangeot the good sportsmen
award for the trip. We still have the biggest fish award but that will
be decided when we get in. Chances are it will be Bill Depriest Jr. The
guys had a great day on the beach today and are now looking forward to a
nice relaxing ride home. We will report again tomorrow, Andy Cates

Good evening folks. Our weather going to Cabo has been nice. We got
everything cleaned up and ready for tomorrow. We will be at Cabo at 700
in the morning. That will give the guys plenty of time to catch their
flights and the rest of the guys time to go in and do some shopping. We
will leave tomorrow and head up at 11:00 in the morning .
The weather fax shows good weather all the way up. We are hoping it
sustains. We will report again tomorrow. Andy Cates
Feb 22, 2004
Good evening folks, Our day started just after midnight when we hooked
our first fish. We hooked one every now and again until daylight and
ended up with 8 tuna for our efforts. Steve Pettibone and Larry Bennet
had the bigger fish. Larry with a weighted sardine and Steve with one
192 pounds on the chunk. The rest of the day we spent on the anchor. We
never hooked another tuna all day. We did have good action on the wahoo
that kept the guys busy most of the day. The wahoo were reacting well to
the sardines flown out with a balloon. The surface action was a lot of
fun. They were biting the Bombs and the fly lined sardines as well. We
scratched 30 wahoo and just the 8 tuna, but we are hoping for a few more
tonight. We are going to fish until midnight and then head to Cabo. We
will report again tomorrow, Andy Cates

Good evening folks. Last night after dinner we started hooking tuna. We
picked away until 1:00 in the morning getting a dozen fish . Most were
all nice size, 100 pounds or better. Bill Depriest Sr. landed this fish
around 190 pounds on a sardine with an 8 ounce sinker. Dale Sommers
picked off a decent fish here showing it with a pose. Really the only
fish we got in the morning was caught by Brian Atkinson There were
couple other smaller grade fish but really a disappointment. Brian's
fish, around 190 pounds as well. Nothing over 200 pounds for us but
hopefully tonight. We trolled up another 24 wahoo the rest of the day
and only had one tuna so far this evening. We will report again
tomorrow. Andy Cates

Good evening folks. We had no night bite last night, but we did get a
shot in the morning on decent size fish. John Loftus and Norman Fujimoto
got a couple of nice size fish. Norm had his on the kite and John on a
sardine. Nothing over 200 for us this morning but maybe tonight. We
spent the day fishing wahoo and had pretty good action finishing the day
with 37 wahoo and 17 tuna. The wahoo fishing was done trolling around
the bank. Only a few caught on the anchor. We spent busy most of the
day. We will report again tomorrow, Andy Cates

Feb 19, 2004
Good evening folks, last night things looked up for us. We got a chance
at some bigger fish and pulled out a couple of nice ones. Bill De Priest
Jr. picked a 230 pounder and Larry Martin one right at 200. A few other
decent fish throughout the night Francios Mangeo started the bite off
with this decent fish. We had a few chances at big ones and lost them
due to heavy tangles. The fish were caught using 8 ounce sinkers and
sardines. There was no current and the baits and lines were all over the
place. Really frustrating but we are thankful for the chances.
The rest of the day was pretty slow with the exception of a few stops on
wahoo. We are hoping for a shot on big ones tonight Chet Mondor picked
off this nice fish in the evening about 190 pounds with a few other fish
caught giving us 18 tuna and 13 wahoo for the day. We will report again
tommorow. Andy Cates

Good evening folks. Still slow on the tuna fishing. We had a couple of
nice fish in the morning up over a hundred pounds and then one here and
there throughout the day. The wahoo bit a little today and kept us busy.
We picked up 25 wahoo but only 10 tuna for the day. Conditions were much
better and there was more sign of fish, they just would not bite. The
weather is very nice now and we are just hoping that things turn for the
better. We will report again tomorrow. Andy Cates
Feb 17, 2004
Good evening folks. Very poor here today. We did pull out a few decent
fish, but a lot of moving around. We are hoping for better tomorrow. It
looks like there is plenty of fish, they just don't want to bite. We
will be more patient tomorrow and hopefully it will pay off. Brian
Atkinson grinded in this decent fish caught on a flyer flown out with a
balloon. We will report again tomorrow, Andy Cates

Feb 16, 2004
Good evening folks. We started fishing around 1:00 in the afternoon and
had decent action on 70 to 90 pound tuna. We did get a few nicer fish a
hundred pounds or better but not what I would call a good showing on big
fish. Chet Mondor picked up the biggest fish of the afternoon about 180
pounder. I also posted a picture of Norm Fujimoto and Tom Jackson with a
couple of evening caught wahoo. We did not troll for wahoo today we were
plagued with high winds and rough seas. Hopefully the weather gets
better and makes it easier to work.
We are hoping for a few big ones tonight and tomorrow. We will report
then, Andy Cates

Good evening folks Not much to report today. We spent some time rigging
up for wahoo and finished up on some tuna things. We had another nice
raffle from the sponsors I posted yesterday . It really does break
things up with the giveaways. Everyone likes free tackle and
accessories.
The weather is still nice and getting warmer. We will be
fishing tomorrow at lunch time. We will report again, Andy Cates
Feb 14 2004
Good afternoon folks. Another day of travel and another day of great
weather. We stopped at Cedros and picked up some Mackerel. We got about
a half a deck tank and then left. They just didn't want to bite. We had
plans of going to Mag Bay to top off, but changed our plans and are now
going to the outside.
We started the morning with a seminar on tuna fishing and had another raffle. Dennis Rogers was the lucky winner of the Graphite USA rod wrapped by SmittyG custom rods. The prizes continued to be doled out with thanks to Norm Fugimoto from Izorline,
Larry Martin From Graphite USA and John Loftus from Catchy Tackle. Other sponsors of the trip include: Ballyhood International, Tady Lures, Bandit Lures, M and M custom rods, Motion Imprints Kens custom reels, and Izorline.
We did five different raffles and everyone was a winner. It was a
great way to break up the ride and everyone had a great time. We will
report again tomorrow, Andy Cates

Good afternoon folks, We are on our way down on an Izorline sponsored 16
day fly-back trip. Our sardines look great and the weather is epic. The
hard part is deciding to go outside or try inside. With the Excel
heading outside we are entertaining the lower banks and even Puerto
Vallarta. A little more research and we will decide. The water temp
sounds like it is back up, around 74 degrees that sounds encouraging.
Tonight we are going to make a stop at Cedros and try for bait. We will
report again tomorrow. Andy Cates
