Dec. 1st,
Good evening folks, Our move down to the Jamie Bank was a bust with rain and wind most of the day we only caught 4 wahoo for our efforts. Running back up to the tuna grounds in hopes of some action which turned to be another challenging with very little big fish today. Should have been here yesterday. Our saving grace was a 310 pounder caught tonight by Archie Irons with another 195, and a dozen smaller grade fish for the day we were hoping for more. Not that the big fish wasn't great just when there is not much sign on the down days it is long and boring.
With 4 days left in here and plenty of sardines we are hoping there is a change and things get a little more consistent. Hopefully tomorrow

Dec. 4th,
Good morning folks. The weather has turned in our favor. Yesterday we saw good sign of bigger fish with the better weather and picked up a couple of fish over 200 pounds. The sign was in the afternoon and if they were biting at all we would have had a spectacular evening. Unfortunately they were not.
Today is good weather and decent action on smaller grade fish. No big ones yet but we are hoping this afternoon. This area takes a lot of patience and the off days seem like they never end. With all the work we have done 13 of the 17 people on board have fish over 200 pounds, we are hoping to take care of the other 4 guys today and tomorrow. If we can find a school of biting fish everything will change in a hurry.

Dec. 5th,
Good morning folks. Our last day here and this morning is showing better sign with a 206 and 216 and a few 100 plus pound fish to go with. We are hoping for a big day here to finish off with. Yesterday we had action on smaller fish in the morning and then later a handful of fish in the high hundreds up to 199 and a whopper of 337 caught by Bud Mauerhaun. Bud has had a great trip with a 273, 270 and now this 337 after a long skiff ride. Not bad for 81 years old. Congratulations Bud.
Nice weather today and hoping to finish off with a bang.

Dec. 7th,
Good morning folks. The ride up is nice and it looks like good weather ahead. Maybe some rain but hopefully no wind.
The last day of fishing we had much better action including a few standout fish. A couple of 200 pounders in the morning and then the last stop brought in a 287 caught by Gerhard Ihde. Last fish of the trip actually hooked in the dark and lasted well after dark.
We will be home Sunday morning. I will give an updated ETA tomorrow Andy Cates
Dec. 8th,
Good morning folks. It looks like our stretch of good weather just ran out. With the reports of bad weather and what we have here, it looks like we will be late. Between 0900 and 1100 in the morning depending on the weather.
The visions of getting in on time are over.

Dec. 13, 2007
Good evening folks. Our first day of fishing started out good with the first stop bringing up a 294 pound tuna also another 10 fish from 80 to 160 pounds. With just a couple of other stops that would not stay with us we struggled all afternoon. Not as much sign as the last few days and we are hoping for better tomorrow. Butch Frazier was the lucky big fish angler today. It sure would be nice to get a few more chances tomorrow.

Dec. 15, 2007
Good morning folks. Yesterday we drifted most of the day, after catching a 306 pounder in the morning we figured we should stick with it and see if big fish gets on us. Most of what we caught were 80 to 140 pound fish with just a couple of bigger ones. It was a slow pick that never really developed.
Mostly small fish here again today with a 120 pounder being a big one so far for the day.
We will report again tomorrow

Dec. 16, 2007
Good evening folks.
Today we saw the same action as yesterday on 50 to 100 pound fish with a few bigger mixed in. No fish over 200 for us but the stock grade provided good action and fishing throughout the morning. Biggest fish today was about 170 pounds . There still are chances at big fish they are just off the banks right now. Maybe tomorrow the black porpoise will drag in the cows to go with what we have already.

Dec. 18th, 2007
Good morning folks. We finished off yesterday with a couple of big fish. A 253 and a 206 and more of that 50 to 100 pound fish. Also a few mid hundreds fish in the mix. Very good sign of fish just off the bite. With the great weather you could see for miles and get a good idea of what was around.
Hopefully on the next moon phase the big fish will start to bite again. Even off the bite there are still occasional big ones mixed in. Today we are fishing the 13 fathom spot. Just to break up the day and get a little action.
We will report again tomorrow
