June 2, 2005
We arrived at the fishing grounds yesterday morning. It looks like we will be in good shape. We were a bit worried at first as we had heard that the last boat down here had some shark problems. We were thankful to see they had left by the time we got here with any luck they'll stay away.
June 3rd 12:15pm
Well, after fishing the rest of the day yesterday and even fishing into the night, Dennis Rogers walked off with the Daily Jack Pot prize of a new Accurate reel.
We finally ended up with a nice catch of 31 tuna total for yesterday, 18 of those were actually caught at night from 9pm-3am. An interesting thing to note is that the big tuna we are catching at night are all being caught on Tady’s glow in the dark Jigs. They seem to be working out well for us. The average tuna caught seems to be between about 120-190lbs with a few over 200lbs mixed in.
Today we have 16 more tuna and even a few wahoo and it’s only noon. We seem to be getting a nice catch later in the evenings so we will have to wait till tomorrow to announce the Jackpot winner. However we have two more anglers with fish over 200lbs today so far.
Leo Reihsen of CLIO, CA who is Accurate’s on board representative has a tuna today that taped out at 206.
Ken Buzzell of SAN PEDRO., CA is today’s leading JP contender with his tuna taping out at 225lbs.
Everything else on the boat is going well, the weather is still really nice and we should have a nice enjoyable weekend. We will try and get a report in over the weekend if possible but if you don’t see one we will catch you up on our progress come Monday when someone is back in the office. Talk to you soon.

Well today 21 tuna were landed with the following big ones by: Al Jackson 218, Dave Reyes 236, Leo - 218 The average fish landed were 160 - 190 lbs. There is a light breeze making conditions perfect for the angler.
June 5th
Just a quick update. Andy called in over the weekend to say that they are still plugging away at those 200lbs tuna. By Sunday afternoon they had added 26 more tuna to their catch and 4 of those were over 200lbs. We were trying to wait to hear from them today so that we could add the names of those who caught cows over the weekend. Unfortunately we were not able to get a clear enough signal to be able to get a report for today. Hopefully tomorrow we will have a more complete one. I do know that he said one was around 215, 218 and the largest taped in at 242 lbs landed by Bob Michner. Everything else was fine including the weather.
June 6th
Fishing is still good and the weather is just amazing. The winds are very light 5-8 knot. Just enough breeze to make it comfortable fishing. We picked away again today, with 25 tuna up to 221 lbs. Looks like we have 3 taped out over 200 lbs.
June 9th
The Red Rooster III is on its way back to San Diego full of Yellowfin Tuna.

The boat had two really HOT days of Yellow tail fishing with at least 250 yellows. They have a handful of yellowfin, a couple of halibut and two nice size white sea bass around 50lbs. Right now they are heading up the beach to see what they can find as far as Albacore or Bluefin over the weekend. The weather has settled down quite nicely so we should have a nice ride back. We will see you at the docks on Sunday around 8.30am
June 27, 2005
Juilo Ochoa is at the helm on this trip and his first day produced 180 albacore, and he will be fishing albacore today and later on to Guadalupe. Weather was excellent yesterday. We have a little bit of a breeze today.
