Every year in late May, early June Accurate Fishing Products sponsors the 15-day Tuna/Wahoo extravaganza “June Heat” on the Red Rooster III. Charter Host Leo Reihsen and Accurate Pro-Staffer will be on his eighth June Heat trip in 2012. The Red Rooster is Captained by the very experienced Andy Cates. Andy and his excellent crew have always put us on quality fish thru the years. We look forward to our upcoming trip next June.

 

As usual Leo will bring 45-plus Accurate duel drag loaner reels with matching Cal-Star and Seeker rods. All of the Accurate reels are loaded with Izor Spectra, Accurate Accubraid or Jerry Brown Line One Spectra, so all you have to do is add the appropriate mono “top shot” and terminal tackle. If you don’t own any big fish or Wahoo gear this is an excellent opportunity to fish with premium fishing tackle and experience the smooth duel drag of an Accurate Reel. Even if you do have your own tackle the Accurate loaner reels and rods are available for you to try. We loan this tackle out for the entire trip at no cost to you.

 

Another fun feature of this trip is the daily jackpot prizes provided by Accurate. We usually have several Accurate reels, several WFO products, rod blanks and many smaller “goodie prizes” to give out during the trip. We do have fun as many of the "goodie prizes" are for the first fish on the deck.

 

This trip takes 23 anglers and is usually sold out as soon as the boat returns. In the last four years fishing primarily the Hurricane Bank and the buffer zone at Clarion Island we have caught 90 tuna over 200 pounds and seven tuna over 300 pounds with many tuna in the 175 to 199 pound range. In addition, we usually catch limits of Wahoo.

We also sponsor a 13/10 day ride down with an optional fly home trip in November each  year. On this trip the main Charter Host is Accurate owner Jack (AccuJack) Nilsen with me as his able assistant. We hope to see you on one of our Red Rooster tips in the future.
